Special Issue Information

In an era defined by rapid and unpredictable global transformation, traditional public policy frameworks often prove insufficient in addressing the complexities of modern societal challenges. To move forward, we must look beyond conventional boundaries and established dogmas. There is an urgent need for "innovation"—a paradigm shift that encourages thinking outside the box, challenging existing assumptions, and proposing new, evidence-based solutions grounded in empirical facts rather than mere theoretical intuition. Such innovation is essential not only for general social progress but specifically for fostering social development that is truly sustainable and resilient in the face of change.

This Special Collection, "Public Policy Innovations for Sustainable Social Development," provides a dedicated platform for exploring these transformative ideas. We aim to gather a diverse body of knowledge that bridges the gap between visionary thinking and practical application. The collection is intentionally inclusive in its scope; we welcome original research articles and comprehensive reviews from all disciplinary perspectives and geographical contexts. We do not impose limitations on research methodologies, encouraging both qualitative and quantitative approaches that offer fresh insights into policy innovation.

The primary goal of this Special Collection is to serve a dual purpose. Academically, it seeks to provide scholars and researchers with updated empirical data and innovative perspectives to inform future studies. Practically, it aims to offer actionable insights for policymakers and government agencies, enabling them to refine policy formulation and implementation to be more effective and better suited to the contemporary global landscape.
