Special Issue Information
Entrepreneurship has increasingly emerged as a key driver of sustainable social development in response to global challenges such as economic inequality, climate change, digital transformation, and social exclusion. Beyond traditional business creation and profit generation, contemporary entrepreneurship encompasses social, green, digital, and inclusive forms of entrepreneurial activity that contribute to innovation, resilience, and community development. Entrepreneurial initiatives can support sustainable economic growth, reduce inequalities, strengthen local communities, and foster adaptive responses to environmental and societal challenges across developed and developing economies.
Rapid technological advancement, institutional transformation, and global crises have further highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial ecosystems that promote inclusion, sustainability, and resilience. In particular, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, social innovation, and community-based entrepreneurship are reshaping opportunities for sustainable development and social impact. At the same time, institutional support, governance mechanisms, education, gender inclusion, and social capital remain critical factors influencing entrepreneurial outcomes and long-term societal wellbeing.
This Special Issue focuses on the role of entrepreneurship in promoting sustainable social development through innovation, inclusion, and resilience. It aims to advance theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented understanding of how entrepreneurial activities contribute to sustainable and equitable societies across different institutional and cultural contexts.
We welcome a diversity of submissions, including conceptual and empirical articles, literature reviews, meta-analyses, methodological contributions, and interdisciplinary studies addressing topics related to the scope of this Special Issue.
